Merry Christmas from the Kleweno's!

Henley had a great 1st Christmas! We had more snow and April's parents, Nana and Grandpa, braved the weather and joined April's sister, Ashley with us for the day. We had a great time together especially watching Henley. She was so adorable. She was more interested in the pretty bows than the presents. Although, "many kisses" Elmo was quite a hit!

On Christmas Eve, Henley wore her "I Love Santa" onesie with a reindeer on her pants. We left milk and cookies out for Santa and spread oats out in the yard for his reindeer. All Henley's idea. ;-) For Christmas day, we had her dressed in the cutest "My 1st Christmas" onesie that Sassy made especially for her. So precious!

We are so thankful for all our friends and family. We are especially thankful for the true reason we celebrate Christmas. Happy Birthday Jesus!

Happy 3 Months!

It is hard to believe Henley turned 3 months old yesterday. We have had her for a quarter of a year already. Wow, time does fly. She has grown so much in the last month. She now weighs 14 lbs 1 oz and is in size 2 diapers. She is the same size both height and weight as some 6 and 9 month olds in her class. :-)

She is very alert and constantly watches everything going on around her. She is doing a great job holding her head up and has even managed to roll over from her stomach to her back on different occasions. She has such a great disposition. She almost never cries. I mean seriously almost never. She sleeps from 9 pm to almost 7am everyday and would probably sleep longer if we didn't have to go to work. She loves her bath time and being in the water. She laughs and coos all the time. She is just plain happy. How spoiled are we?

We love her so much and she brings us such joy. God has been so good to us and we thank Him for entrusting us to raise her. Happy 3 Month Birthday, Henley!

Day Camp

So with Gigi gone, Henley started "day camp", aka day care, this week. The best way to describe how that is going is...well...interesting. I don't want to get into the details but the short story is that we have started to look for other options. The day care has done absolutely nothing wrong. Henley has not been abused or mistreated. In fact, the workers have been nothing but nice. There are just things about day care for her specific age that we have come to realize we just don't like. Maybe in a couple years day care will be a really good option for us. But for now, we have decided to start looking for something different. So if you are interested in a part time nanny job, let me know. ;-)

It is funny to watch kids become attached to different items and our child is no different. Henley has become attached to 2 different blankets. One is a handmade quilt that my Aunt Linda, aka Gran, made for her. She loves to stick her little fingers through the holes in it and just grab onto it. In fact, the other night we caught her with her toes stuck through the little holes. It was so cute! She just loves to be wrapped up in it. The other is a pink "silky" blanket. Here recently, she has decided she likes to grab hold of it and drape it over her head while she naps! What a safe sleep habit...LOL! When we pull it down, she will just pull it right back up. We think she likes the way it feels against her face but she wants it covering her head! She is too funny.

Many of you have asked about April, and yes, she is still sick. We determined she doesn't have strep but is still fighting the same nasty cough even after a full cycle of antibiotics. We really hope she can kick this thing soon and be healthy for Christmas. She has gone through so much in the last 3 months and it would be nice for her to finally be back at full strength again.

2 Month Check Up and more...

It has been crazy here at the Kleweno house. April has been sick for the majority of the past 2 weeks. She had the stomach bug two weeks ago, then she got the flu. She finally got rid of the flu and then 2 days later got a nasty head cold. It has not been a fun month for her thus far. April has been sick more in the last month than the previous 5+ years we have been married combined. I guess Henley really is sucking out all of April's immune system. :-)

Henley went to the pediatrician for her 2 month check up this past week. She is doing great and right on track. She was in the 97% in weight, 13 lbs 7 oz, and the 90% in height, 23 3/4 inches. He said she was acting more like a 3 or 4 month old than a 2 month old. In fact on Friday night, she hit a milestone in her little development. She rolled over front to back on her own! I couldn't believe it! She is growing so fast and changing everyday. She was even amazed and laughed at herself. We have been trying to catch it on video but she seems a little camera shy, only doing it "off camera". Hopefully, I will be able to capture it soon.

On a sad note for us, Gigi had to leave this weekend and go back to Georgia. We were so glad she was able to come and help take care of ALL of us. We were all spoiled with the lunches and dinners she made for us and the helping hand that was always around. Henley is especially going to miss all the special attention she received. Thank you, Gigi for all you did.

First Snow

We got our first snow of the year yesterday, Henley's first snow. So of course we had to take pictures. She is so cute in her pink snow bunny outfit.

Out of no where she has started to begin to hold her own bottle while she eats. She did this on 3 separate occasions yesterday. We will see if the trend keeps up. It is still fun to watch our little girl grow.

It has been a busy week at our house. Gigi and Papa were here for Thanksgiving weekend. Papa left on Sunday to head back to Georgia and Gigi stayed to help keep Henley while April returned to work this week. Then on Tuesday, my Aunt Linda (Mom's friend from college) drove down from Virginia and stayed with us until Thursday. April got sick with the flu on Wednesday and we were so glad we had all the help.
