4 Month Check Up, Solid Foods and more

This past week Henley had her 4 month check up. The pediatrician said she is doing great. She is now 24 1/2 inches long and weighs 14lbs 8oz. Of course she had to have more shots which is no fun. She did great though. She barely cried and was fine by the time she got to the car. That's my tough girl! :-)

The pediatrician also said we could slowly start her on solid foods. So on Tuesday we tried her first meal of rice cereal. The doctor warned us that it could be a struggle and she might not like it. Not our Henley! We couldn't get it to her fast enough. In fact, she wanted to hold the spoon and feed herself on the first day. How do babies learn this stuff? So messy, but so cute!

Also, Friday was her last day of "day camp". We have a Nanny! Yeah! We are so excited and think it will be such a great fit.

Happy 4 Months

Happy 4 Month Birthday Henley! You are growing up too fast! Your Mom and Dad love you so much.

Family Visits

The past two weekends we have visited both sides of the family. Last weekend we took our first trip to Georgia with Henley. Between Gigi, Papa, Auntie A and Uncle J - Henley got spoiled with attention. She did pretty well in the car. She didn't sleep as much as we had hoped but she wasn't too fussy either. She was her typical happy, attentive self.

We visited April's family this weekend. We got to see all of April's grandparents and her Dad. Henley was the center of attention as usual. They couldn't believe how much she had grown and how advanced she was acting. How can you not love that face? :-)

Mid Week Photo Shoot

One of the many benefits of April's job is that she has some time off during the week to spend with Henley. She is so great at doing photo shoots with Henley. Enjoy!

(Notice how well Henley is holding her head up.)

Grow so fast

Things are finally getting back to normal around here after the holidays. April and I both worked full work weeks. We both missed Henley like crazy. You get spoiled around the holidays with all the time off for family.

I know I say this almost every week but Henley is going like crazy! I guess that is just what kids do. But it is so awesome to watch it happen daily with your own eyes. She is doing awesome awesome holding her head steady. We got her in her Bumbo chair and the high chair this week. She loves being able to sit up and see everything going on. She is so observant. Especially at the TV. We are doing our best to minimize how much she watches. But if the TV is turned on and she could potentially see it, she is turning her head in all sorts of directions to find it. Even upside down! Too funny!

She has also started babbling a ton now. She will just get on these rants for literally 5 minutes straight. Just a babbling and cooing over and over just trying to talk to you. She is so cute. She is definitely going to be a little talker. Oh my little baby is growing up too fast already.

Happy New Year

Happy 2011 everyone!

I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the Kleweno's 2010.

We rang in the New Year with Friends...not knowing our little bundle of joy was already "baking in the oven".

In January, we found out April was pregnant. We were surprised and excited. A little one was on the way!

We took a long weekend to Boone with our friends, the Elsdons. We had a blast and really enjoyed skiing in the NC mountains.

Matt lost 3 of his grandparents this past year. My Popie (Mom) died in March. My Grandma (Dad) died in May and then my Grandpa (Dad) died in June. They were all Godly Christian examples. We loved them and miss them.

In April, we found out we were having a girl and the name Henley Elizabeth was coined. We were so excited!

We took a 2 week trip to Europe. We got to see much of England and Paris. We had a good time and really loved London. It was our last big trip before we settled in and starting getting ready for little Henley.

April started her new job at Midtown Pharmacy. It was the greatest blessing. It is one big family and April is so happy being there.

In July and August, we were showered with gifts for our baby girl. Friends and family were so supportive and we felt so loved.

In September, Henley was born. Our little bundle of joy arrived on the 21st and brought joy and excitement to the entire family.

She is such a sweet baby. And loved so much.

In November, Henley started smiling, cooing and trying to talk to us. She was already trying to hold her head up and doing it pretty well.

In December, we celebrated our first snow and first Christmas with Henley. We enjoyed our first visit from Santa and can't wait for many more.

2010 was a year marked with many emotions. We have been blessed. We welcome in 2011 with so much to be thankful for. We hope everyone had a great holiday and wish everyone a Happy New Year!
