Gigi and Papa visit

I am just amazed at how quickly babies grow up. Henley has gone from being a "supported sitter" at 4 months, sitting on her own at 5 months, to now fully crawling and pulling herself up. She wants to walk and will look for anything or anybody that will help her do it. She also started shaking her head "no". It is so cute. I swear her first sentence will be "Macy - No!" because she hears it so much from us. See the video below.

This past weekend Gigi and Papa came and visited us. We loved having them. Gigi watched Henley while Papa and I did yard work all day Friday. Henley loved to sit and listen to Gigi read to her. She would get so focused on the the book. She has a very focused side. And then they both baby sat for us while April and I got to have a date night on Saturday -- which was sooo nice! Henley loved seeing them and would just grin and laugh, especially with Papa while he tickled her belly.

Birthday, Clapping, & Crawling

Yesterday was April's 30th birthday! She is such a great wife and mom. I am so thankful that God put her in my life. I appreciate all that she does and I am blessed to have her as my wife. Happy Birthday - We love you - Matt, Henley & Macy!

So it is official...my little Henley is growing up and the game has forever changed! In the past week, she has started two C's - clapping and crawling. Her clapping is so cute. She will sit herself up and then clap at herself, like "Yea for me -- look what I did". It is so adorable. If you clap, she will normally clap with you. Pat-a-cake here we come.

And it is official...at 7 1/2 months Henley is crawling - check out the video below. It is not elegant but she gets to where she wants to go...particularly if it is to get closer to the iPad playing Elmo. :-) She has also started trying to pull herself up on furniture and is now all over the place. We need to "baby proof" our house SOON. Yikes, we have some work to do.

Clapping...

Crawling...

And if you were wondering what she actually does with the spoon :-)

7 Months

So this past week Henley turned 7 months old. Wow - how time flies. She has been growing like crazy and we had some really big milestones this past week.

She had her first Easter and the Easter Bunny didn't forget her. She had a cute basket filled with lots of goodies! We all went to church and she got to wear her precious Easter dress. We then met April's parents for lunch before heading back to church that night. It was a really nice day.

And then on Monday, Henley crawled forward for the first time....Yea! She still shimmies but she can definitely move forward when she wants to. With as much as she likes to pull up and stand we were really starting to wonder if she would just skip the crawling. But we are glad she didn't.

Then on Wednesday, she ate her first Mum Mum all by herself. A Mum Mum is like a teething biscuit that dissolves quicker than regular food. It was one of her surprises for Easter and man she loves them. The best part is that she can feed them to herself. And then finally, later that day she drank her first "juice" out of the sippy cup. So she eat and drank like a big girl.

We are so proud of her!

Not the only grandbaby anymore

Last weekly we visited King to celebrate April's Mom's birthday. We had a great time and everyone loved getting to spend time with Henley. She was the center of attention as always. And this past weekend, April had a mini reunion with her best girl friends from Campbell. So things have been busy, busy for us.

Henley is going strong as ever. Still not quite crawling, although now she does the bear crawl where she is up on her hands and toes. I wonder if she will just skip the crawling and go straight to walking. I guess we will see. She has also moved on from the D's to the N's. So now instead of Da-Da-Da. It is now Na-Na-Na. I think April wishes it was Ma-Ma-Ma but you can tell that it is coming soon.

And for the big news, Amanda and Justin are expecting their first baby in October! So Henley is going to have a little cousin! We are so excited for them and are praying for an uneventful, healthy pregnancy for Amanda...and good luck to Justin - just kidding, well sorta. :-)
