Henley isn't quite crawling yet, but she is pulling herself up all on her own. She is quite proud of herself!

Not the only grandbaby anymore
Last weekly we visited King to celebrate April's Mom's birthday. We had a great time and everyone loved getting to spend time with Henley. She was the center of attention as always. And this past weekend, April had a mini reunion with her best girl friends from Campbell. So things have been busy, busy for us.
Henley is going strong as ever. Still not quite crawling, although now she does the bear crawl where she is up on her hands and toes. I wonder if she will just skip the crawling and go straight to walking. I guess we will see. She has also moved on from the D's to the N's. So now instead of Da-Da-Da. It is now Na-Na-Na. I think April wishes it was Ma-Ma-Ma but you can tell that it is coming soon.
And for the big news, Amanda and Justin are expecting their first baby in October! So Henley is going to have a little cousin! We are so excited for them and are praying for an uneventful, healthy pregnancy for Amanda...and good luck to Justin - just kidding, well sorta. :-)

Crawling soon?
Last week Henley had her 6 month check up. She now weighs 18 lbs 3 oz (90%) and is 26 1/4" (70%) tall. She did so great at the doctors. April said she had three vaccines. The first oral and 2 shots and didn't even cry! Such a good baby.
She is changing so fast it is hard to keep up. She now seems to prefer solid foods over milk. Her dinner each day normally includes a variety of oatmeal or rice, a vegetable, and a fruit. She is in love with apples. I think it is her hands down favorite. She also loves pizza, well pizza sauce. Each time we have pizza, she will fuss non-stop until you let her suck on a piece. It is so cute. All she gets is the sauce, but she acts like it is the greatest thing ever. And this past weekend, we went to a local dairy farm and had homemade ice cream. She got her first taste and seemed to like that as well. I guess who doesn't love pizza and ice cream?!? :-)
She is so on the verge of crawling. She is now able to fully get up on her hands and knees. She will scoot backwards over and over again but hasn't figured out how to move forward yet. It is coming!

6 month update
Now that Henley is 6 months old the game has changed. She is more aware of everything going on around her. She is no longer content just sitting in her rocker or being held in one place. She wants to be doing something at all times. Sounds like her Dad. This can be fun, but as most of you know, also exhausting.
Henley has her 6 month checkup later this week. We think she around 17-18 pounds now but we will see. When she is on her stomach, she is either crawling backwards or spinning herself in circles. Yesterday, she got up on both her hands and knees for the first time. So exciting! She has started to figure out how to work her little vocal cords too. She will just blab, blab, blab once she gets going. It is so cute. And of course, her first blabbers were Da-Da-Da. :-)
She is definitely getting taller as she can touch the ground while sitting in her walker now. And she is beginning to figure out how to grab and pull things. The other night we played with the cabinet doors handles for 10 minutes. She loved to open each one and peek inside. It was so fun to watch her little mind at work.
This is such a fun and rewarding stage. You can see her develop more and more each day. We thank God for allowing us to raise Henley and for the love and joy she brings to her Mom and Dad each day!
By the way...she loves her "Diva" sunglasses. Too funny!

Crazy Week
This past week has been crazy. The craziest week that I can remember since our wedding week. Work has been crazy for me, it was my 30th birthday on Thursday, and April threw our best friends, Lisa and Andy, a baby shower on Saturday. So I am sorry there hasn't been a post sooner. I feel like we have barely had time to breathe.
Henley is getting more and more advanced each week. She is so on the verge of crawling. She is now fully pushing up and trying to crawl. She will either spin in circles or actually push herself backwards. She hasn't quite figure it all out yet but I am sure it is coming soon. She has also become so much more interactive with her toys. She is pushing buttons, turning wheels, and even pulling some of the levers. I can't believe how fast she learns things. She is like a sponge.
Since we didn't do so good taking pictures this week. I found a video that I think is pretty funny. Henley does this thing when she starts to get hungry where she acts like she wants to eat you. The funny part is that she acts 100% normal and then out of no where she gets this face and looks like a bear who is about to devour you. It is hilarious! I was able to capture it on my phone when she was doing it to Ashley. Enjoy.
